Breaking the World Transfer Fee Records
Paris Saint-Germain has been Qatari owned since 2011, making them the richest club in France and one of the wealthiest in the world. So, it’s no surprise they broke world transfer fee records three times over a decade.
In 2013, PSG FC bought Uruguayan, Edison Cavani from Napoli FC for €64.6m. At the time of his transfer, he was the most expensive transfer at national league level.
Frenchman, Kylian Mbappe was bought for €135m in 2018. At the time of his transfer, he was the most expensive teen transfer in history and the second most expensive player in the world.
The most expensive transfer in football history was also paid by PSG. In 2017, the Brazilian Neymar was transferred from Barcelona for a whopping €222m.
