How Hot Can the Summer Be?

The hottest, officially registered, temperature in Qatar was 50.4 degrees celsius in the Summer of 2010.

50.4 degrees Celsius maybe the hottest temperature recorded by official means, but residents in Qatar may tell you of even more extreme temperature readings. It is not uncommon for people to record temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius in the summer months in Qatar. However, official measurements take place in very controlled environments, compared to our car temperature gauges, so are probably the most reliable!

Interestingly, the record for the hottest air temperature ever registered goes to California's Death Valley in the United States. In the summer of 1913, temperatures of 56.7 degrees Celsius were recorded.
