Beach Life Escapes - Qatar's Private Beaches

Private Beaches

A popular pastime for residents and visitors in Qatar is spending time on the sandy shores at any of the country’s coastal resorts, hotels or beach clubs. Each offers a chance to soak up some beach life with minimal effort and surrounded by many of life’s little luxuries.

If you are looking for beautifully kept sandy beaches alongside a host of facilities and amenities, then Qatar offers a great choice of venues.

Private beach venues not only offer essential beach facilities such as shaded chairs, loungers and beds, and well equipped changing and showering facilities, but they also provide services such as lifeguards and beach and waiter service. At the majority of hotels and resorts, guests can also make use of climate-controlled swimming pools, sports facilities, spa services and a myriad of cafes and restaurants. And, as is the Qatari way, most are family-friendly with facilities, such as play parks, kids clubs, beach games, indoor play areas, water sports, etc., dedicated to children.

The good thing about the majority of venues is that you can visit just for a few hours, a full day, or even a few days where there is accommodation available – whatever suits your needs and pocket. In general, hotels and resorts welcome walk-in visitors and offer day-passes to the beach with a variety of additional benefits, such as the use of swimming pools, showers, changing rooms, etc. Some even provide lunch as part of the deal. Most offer free-to-use towels and provide bottled water to guests – so, you only need to bring the essentials.

Another seriously popular pastime in Qatar is the weekend brunch. Most hotels offer a brunch package on a Friday and/or on a Saturday. If you visit the beach on the weekend, it’s worth checking to see if brunch is available too.

You will, of course, have to pay to visit private beaches, to use specific amenities and facilities, and definitely for brunch. In saying that, there are hotels and experiences to suit all pockets and tastes. We have put together a selection of the best hotels, resorts and clubs, by type of experience, to give you an idea of what’s on offer:
